Particular Terms for Particular Elements of the Programme
Classroom Training Phase:
Confirmation of any of the classroom training phase dates is subject to sufficient student numbers signing up.
CoROM reserves the right to cancel a classroom training phase time slot if not enough students have signed up and paid €3300
two months before its commencement. – We ask for your understanding in having to apply this strict policy.
• A full refund will be made to all students who have paid for that classroom training phase in that case, within 14 days.
• Students are advised to book flights to Malta only after confirmation of classroom training phase dates.
Approval for a student to be allowed to attend the classroom training phase is dependent on three factors:
1.) Completion of the online learning environment content (submission of all assignments, and completion of all online exams
with a grade of at least 80%) by the start date of the classroom training phase.
2.) Payment of €3000 two months in advance of the start date of the classroom training phase.
3.) Approval from the CoROM Medical Director.
Clinical Placements:
- Locations: Moshi, Tanzania. Johannesburg, South Africa or Budapest, Hungary.
- Cost of accommodation and transport will fluctuate and is paid for by the student.
- The availability of any of the locations listed above cannot be guaranteed and new ones may be added.
- Not all locations may be accessible to all nationalities due to visa, travel or work permit restrictions beyond CoROM's control.
- 400 hours work out - in practice - as six or seven weeks.
- Clinical placements may be broken up into several blocks to fit in with students’ work schedules.
A separate application form will need to be filled out for each clinical placement booking.
The following terms will apply to all, and will form part of that application:
Healthcare Awareness Statement

You are responsible for keeping your vaccinations up to date and for arranging preventative measures against common travel health risks. - Make sure you contact a doctor for advice if in any doubt.
The student will be requested to confirm: “I understand that it is my own responsibility to keep my vaccinations up to date, and to arranging preventative measures against common travel health risks for the country I am planning to visit for this clinical placement.”
Liability Agreement
1. You are preparing to attend a clinical placement organized by CoROM
During this time, you will be operating in areas of risk. You may be exposed to HIV, hepatitis, tropical diseases and many other risks of infection. You are responsible for your own safety, health care, health insurance, travel insurance and vaccinations during this time.
2. You will be at risk while traveling for your placements.
You will be at risk while working in various environments. You are required to be aware of your surroundings and your tactical situations. You are responsible for your own safety. You may also be operating in areas of unrest.

Attendance at a different classroom training phase necessitates an additional payment of €3000 for the new classroom training phase time frame.
- Cancellation by the student:
- Should attendance on the programme be terminated by the student, a certificate of completion will be issued for any modules successfully completed online.
LIABILITY WAIVER – This applies to the whole of the PARAMEDIC PROGRAMME.

- The Student understands and accepts that the services provided to and by CoROM may include activities that may be hazardous to the Student’s health and safety, including, inter alia, the use of dangerous equipment which require skill.
- The Student releases CoROM from any liability or claim arising with respect to bodily harm, personal injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from the services provided in the Paramedic Programme.

CoROM shall not be held liable for any form of indirect or consequential damage.
- The Student understands that CoROM shall not be obliged or assume any responsibility to provide him/her with financial or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability benefits or insurance of any nature in the event of the Student’s injury, illness, death or damage to his/her property. The Student expressly waives any such claim for compensation or liability on the part of CoROM beyond what may be offered freely by CoROM at their sole discretion in the event of such injury or medical expenses incurred by the Student.
- The Student releases and forever discharges CoROM from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first-aid treatment or other medical services rendered in connection with an emergency during the Student’s tenure as a student with CoROM.

- While every conceivable effort will be made by CoROM to accommodate timing schedules requested by the Student for clinical placement dates, the Student also releases the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine from any liability for issues created (such as loss of potential earnings) through scheduling conflicts, non-admittance to a clinical placement location due to immigration issues or other problems outside of CoROM’s control.
